    24-201 INTRODUCTION TO AI (NEW)

Mary Lou Soffa, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 am to 12 noon

    Sonoran Room: May 28, 30, June 4, 6, 11, 13 (6 Sessions)

We have been enjoying classic computing for over 75 years. Now, AI has led to new types of computing and applications, new types of algorithms; new types of computer architectures, new hardware; new types of software developers, all under the overarching theme of artificial intelligence. They herald a sea change in what computers are capable of solving. Artificial Intelligence (AI) – a catchall term used to describe “Intelligent Machines”, which can solve problems, make/suggest decisions and perform tasks that have traditionally required humans to do. AI is not a single thing, but a constellation of different technologies. In this course, we will explore the various technologies of AI, including machine learning, deep learning, and deep neural networks. We will discuss the applications of machine learning and the pitfalls.
